Our Nature Play program is a great opportunity for your child to benefit from self-directed adventure play in a supported, wild space.

Little Wildlings is a mixed-age Kindergarten program for children aged 3–6 years, where children learn alongside one another through play, relationships and everyday experiences in nature. Aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, our child-directed, nature-based curriculum supports each child to learn and grow at their own pace while building confidence, curiosity, independence and a strong sense of belonging.

What Do We Do at Little Wildlings?

Our Nature Play program introduces young children to the wonders of outdoor learning and nature exploration through:

  • Play-Based Learning: Builds creativity, problem-solving, and social skills.

  • Nature Exploration: Hands-on interaction to connect with nature.

  • Child-Directed Play: Guided by children’s interests for independence and curiosity.

  • STEM Basics: Age-appropriate science, tech, engineering, and math skills.

  • Literacy & Numeracy: Early reading, writing, and counting through teachable moments.

  • Social Skills: Emphasis on teamwork, communication, and relationships.

  • Physical Activity: Outdoor play for motor skills and physical health.

  • Mindfulness: Supports awareness, emotional regulation, and relaxation.

  • Artistic Expression: Creative outlets through art and storytelling.

  • Safe Exploration: Manageable risks to build confidence and resilience.

It is likely, however, that your child will be much more interested in:

  • Playing in shallow, freshwater creeks

  • Going on bush walks and spotting wildlife

  • Making bush crafts

  • Using hand tools

  • Or playing in our “mud kitchen”

Which we wholeheartedly support, encourage, and will follow their lead!
